REP. DAVID COOK NAMED 2023 EMERGING LEADER BY GOPAC

APRIL 21,2023

Austin, TX – State Representative David Cook was honored to be named among GOPAC’s 2023 distinguished class of Emerging Leaders. Honorees are nominated by their respective states’ legislative leadership for having shown promise in positively impacting their community and advancing conservative values. GOPAC is a national political action committee dedicated to building a roster of prepared and tested Republicans ready to lead.

Rep. Cook was nominated by Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan out of all Republican members of the Texas House. Only 28 legislators across all legislative chambers in America were chosen for this award.

“I was proud to nominate Representative David Cook for this prestigious award,” said Speaker Dade Phelan. “From cutting property taxes to criminal justice reform to securing our border, in his short time in office, Rep. Cook has been one of the most hardworking and effective legislators for the advancement of Republican priorities in the State of Texas. If elected officials across America followed Rep. Cook’s example, our country would be as strong as ever.”

“I am grateful to the leaders of GOPAC for this prestigious honor and to Speaker Dade Phelan for placing his trust in me with the nomination,” said Rep. Cook. “Most of all, I want to thank the people of House District 96 for their continued support as we work together to stand up for conservative family values.”

The prestigious GOPAC Emerging Leaders Program is a year-long initiative to educate the next generation of Republican legislators. The program equips these legislators with information to help them legislate more effectively and become better representatives for the people they serve.

Since being elected in 2020, Rep. Cook has earned a reputation as a fighter for conservative values including cutting taxes, strengthening education, securing the border, and reforming the criminal justice system. Cook serves House District 96 in Tarrant County, which includes the communities of Kennedale and Rendon as well as parts of Arlington, Burleson, Crowley, Fort Worth, and Mansfield.

David and his wife, Tonya, are blessed with four children and four grandchildren. They are members of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Mansfield.
